Roti and Macaroons
yesterday i went for baking class - hands on to make bread and macaroons. just for the fun of it and indeed it was fun and made a fren or two and meet ppl. the chef was frenly and funny.
the bread is yummy. i must make the effort to find out whether i can substitute for soya flour bcos i can bake for my cucu - my one and only bushuk bahbah ala b3/cheeky cheeky
these are the roti(s)
this is the almond paste
these are the results after adding the ingredients and mixing them with the powerful mixer and let to rest for 20 mins of which will be further divided into 6 portions
these are the 6 portions - 3 each - cindee's and mine ;P - i am so excited about it upon this moment of time. just waiting for the end results. very kanchiong. waited for another say 20mins for the bread to rise then only can we roll out and spread the almond paste onto it

here it is being rolled out and spread with almond paste

after spreading the almond paste, the dough have to be rolled up to the size/weith of the baking tin. each tin can contained 3 rolls.

there you are the 3 rolls all ready to set aside to rise for another 20 mins. hmmmm wait again. thats the wonderful thing about hands on. youjust have to be patient/sabar/tan kuku
then once the bread has risen, brush with egg and sprinkle with sugar (optional) and ready for baking. here comes the end product and fun hard work we have put in
walla!! roti / bread / loti / toti - whatever you may call it - the taste was good/superb / delicious believe me. very shiok ah! ;P cindee my partner had to leave early and didnt wait for the bread bake. it benefited me and i decide to share it with my sister and niece and nephew and bro-in-law. oh wow! my sister said good, can give recipe? eh! wah rugi lah like that i go pay for class and she wanted recipe! alamak!! but no sweat / no problemo / tidak apa - i give lor cos she is my sister and i love her. hehe. not only that, motive is, she bake i get to eat. ahahahaha. ;P cheeky me.

the above bread belongs to cindee my partner. mine abit flatten. why ah? maybe bcos the chef brush abit to hard on my bread - so sad. sob sob sob. no lah!!! however it looks, the taste is yumyum ;P and i am one happy person in pasir ris that day.
the following are macaroons

this is the dough after mixing all the ingredients and scoop in a piping bag and pipe out about the size of 50cts coin? about there

this is my tray of piped macaroons and these are the ppl in class and the following pics, the yellow macaroons was done by a group of students (they look like student - suppose it is their school project i guess). oh by the way, that lady in yellow blouse, she's cindee my first time baking buddy. hehe
these green macaroons are by chef : patrick pang - frenly chap and he's got the habit of winking his left eye. i dont know whether others noticed but for sure i did. :) guess what? after baking ours he said that he have used the ground almond instead of almond mill (flour) and he said also can but to me CANNOT! la cos the texture is entirely different. that was why he made the green tea macaroons (i didnt like it cos i dont like green tea :) )

the class consist of 19 ppl which is rather alittle too crowded. 10 to 12 will be just right. there is always a blunder when comes to crowd. it was a fun funny day. alot of laughter too. my table partners where great. we communicate well and looking at our own actions and doings, we laugh at ourselves. it was hilarious, i tell you. everyone was like, "eh! how ah?" "eh! correct or not?" "eh! what did we put inside?" "did we measure correctly" "no! no! you cant weigh the bowl, must reset the weighing machine to zero with the bowl on it! - oh ya hor!" alamak!!! so cute ah we all. it was a real chaos! but it went smoothly like nobody is talking about others matter of fact, we had to peep on others and everyone did the same too. the regulars goes around helping to put salt and tell us what to do. that was kind of them. overall, we get along well with almost all that we bumped into in the kitchen. wash your own utensils after using and keeping the area clean was so well disciplined. Guess we know the dos and the donts. Well, it is a good stress reliever. trust me, you forget about the world outside for a couple of hours. IT IS DAMN GOOD!!
ok here are the pics. enjoy it. you lucky ones may get to try it when i bake. ;P cheers babe/mate!
